Erastus has been a leader in private sector for over a period of 20 years. His experience ranges from finance, auditing, public policy engagements to general management and membership in boards of directors.
Starting off his career with one of the world’s big 4 audit firms, EY-Tanzania, Erastus acquired versatile exposure in different sectors, including banking, manufacturing and Non-Governmental Organizations. He also worked in the petroleum industry for 5 years to a level of finance manager.
Erastus extended his leadership in the manufacturing sector where he worked for 10 years at different capacities as a finance manager, corporate affairs director, director of finance, general manager and acted severally as managing director for a multinational company.
Erastus has broad private sector engagement experience with the Government of Tanzania, within the East Africa Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on policy related matters. He has been member of the Governing Council of Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) for 8 years as well as 1st Vice Chairperson for CTI in 2021. He has also been a board committee member with Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and the East Africa Business Council (EABC).
Erastus holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce Degrees from the University of Dar es Salaam, as well as Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Diplomacy from the Center for Foreign Relations, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Law from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) and a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-UK and accomplished author of two books – Poverty Within Not On The Skin (2021) and A Distant Perspective On The US and Obama Administration (2017).
